Well, mermaids…
My Alaskan season is almost over.
Soon, I’ll be trading bears, glaciers, bald eagles, kayaking trips, and my slightly questionable bus-and-tent living arrangement for my next adventure.
It feels strange to leave.
This summer was beautiful, exhausting, wild, frustrating, surprising, and occasionally held together with blister tape and camp-stove meals. But it also gave me thousands of photographs... and even more stories.
Before I leave, I wanted to share my favorite photograph from September:
Why I chose this one
This isn't the most technical photograph on planet Earth. But I feel like I got the holy trinity of Alaska wildlife: the salmon, the bear, and the eagle!
Plus, it was such an incredible moment that will become an amazing memory for years to come!
