A suspiciously perfect sunset
๐งโโ๏ธ Perhaps a mermaid. Couldn't hurt.
But here's the problem:
If we only pick up our cameras when life looks extraordinary, we don't get much practice photographing ordinary life extraordinarily.
And that's where a LOT of photography skills are actually built.
So this week, I'm giving you a tiny challenge.
No adventure required!
You don't even need your camera. Your phone counts.
Your Everyday Adventure Challenge
Pick ONE of these and photograph it sometime this week:
1. Chase the light.โ
Find one patch of interesting light in your house, neighborhood, workplace, wherever. Photograph whatever happens to be inside it.
2. Make something boring look epic.โ
Your coffee. Your hiking boots. Your dog. A grocery cart. I don't care. Pretend you're being paid an unreasonable amount of money to photograph it.
3. Get weird with your angle.โ
Get low. Shoot through something. Get uncomfortably close. Photograph straight down. Anything except your normal standing-at-eye-level shot.
4. Find one tiny thing you'd normally walk past.โ
A weird texture. A reflection. A flower growing through concrete. Rain on a window. Something colorful.
5. Tell a story in three photos.โ
Pick something you're already doing and photograph the beginning, middle, and end.
And the bonus?
The more you practice seeing interesting photographs when absolutely nothing exciting is happening... the more prepared you'll be when something incredible finally does.
So grab your camera. Or your phone. Pick one prompt.
And go find something worth photographing. ๐ธ
